Who
Are We?
The
Arts Recycling Centre is an ongoing project of Community Arts
Palmerston North.
The
Arts Recycling Centre exists to ensure that all of the Manawatu
community have access to affordable art and craft materials
to enable self-expression. In doing this the Arts Recycling
Centre recognises the need to protect the preciousness of
our natural environment by promoting conservation to waste
management.
What
Services Do We Provide?
For a number of years the Arts Recycling Centre has provided
this valuable and unique service to the Manawatu Community
by collecting and redistributing clean recycled waste materials
from members of the community and local businesses. These
donated materials are sorted, packaged, priced and displayed
for sale. Prices are purposely kept low so materials
can be available to individuals on low-income and community
groups. Memberships to schools, kindergartens and community
groups are also available to keep prices even lower.
The
Arts Recycling Centre is staffed by one paid coordinator and
has a number of volunteers from all walks of life. They work
