Iho
The Toi Iho mark
is a registered trade mark used to promote and sell authentic,
quality Maori arts and crafts. The creation of the mark
was facilitated by Te Waka Toi, the Maori Arts Board of Creative
New Zealand, in consultation with Maori artists.
The Toi Iho Maori
Made Mark is for individuals and groups of artists who are
of Maori descent. To find out how to apply to become a licensed
toi iho Maori Made Mark user visit the Toi Iho website, www.toiiho.com
When attached to
an artwork, the Toi Iho Mark guarantees it was created by
a person of Maori descent and provides an assurance of quality.
The Toi Iho Mark
has also been designed to authenticate exhibitions and performances
of Maori arts by Maori artists.
The Toi Iho webiste, www.toiiho.com
lists all artists who are licensed users of the Mark and all
retailers who are licensed stockists. Art and craft retailers
and galleries may apply to become Toi Iho licensed stockists
if they stock the works of licensed mark users.
