Exhibition openings

Exhibition openings can be nerve racking but can also be good fun! Here's some tips to make it work for you

  • Consider speaking at your opening - you may like to welcome guests and inform people about yourself and your work.
  • An opening can be a good way for a potential buyer to make a personal connection to the work and to the artist.
  • A printed artist's statement is another useful method of providing information.
  • Openings can be a good opportunity for the artist to network
  • Drinks and nibbles may motivate people to come, make them feel welcome when they arrive, and encourage them to linger and perhaps consider a purchase - some supermarket chains will consider sponsoring refreshments as will liquor outlets.
