fx2 (Effects Squared) performance art space
fx2 is designed to showcase the work of local artists, either as individuals or collectively from groups and schools to a small audience using advanced technology.
The Theatre has the latest technology which enables you to feel the rumble of the dinosaur coming towards you, or the explosions of the interspace battle happening on screen. It is equipped with the highest specification screen and sound system. The surroundings have a look and feel that invite you to sit and soak up the entertainment.
fx2 can be used by film-makers, playwrights, poets, digital artists, or use it for plays, events, recitals or even a seminar.
The space has a small stage, stage lighting and internet connection and seats up to 36.

Evelyn
Rawlins Room
The
Evelyn Rawlins Room was named in memory of a 1925 foundation
member of the Palmerston North Music Club.
It
is located on the 1st floor of Square Edge heritage building
in the middle of the city.
The
Evelyn Rawlins room has retained some of its former character
as Palmerston North City council chambers with ornate ceilings
and chandeliers.
It
is available for classes, performances and meetings and can
hold up to 100 people.
The
Grotrian grand piano, owned by local concert group, Musica
Viva, can also be hired.
Kitchen
facilities are available.
Dance
Studio
Our
courtyard Dance Studio accommodates up to 80 people and like
the Evelyn Rawlins Room, can be hired casually or long term.
The
basic rate for both these rooms is $12.00 incl GST/hour.
