Kia Ora, My name is Mirjam de Oude and I create under the name Mimpels. I make necklaces and wall/window decorations out of seemingly insignificant objects and materials. Things I find in nature or in the op-shop jungle, during my travels. I invite them into my studio and that is where they become part of a bigger something. For me the process of creating a piece is like a game to find a combination of elements that work together, by all kinds of connections. I gave myself the challenge not to use glue in this process. All the parts carry stories, like a tribute to the seemingly insignificant moments in life.
