Carol Leckie, Manager.
Carol was born in the gritty mining area of Eastwood Nottingham. She emigrated to New Zealand with her parents in 1970 and made Wellington her home for over 30 years. Carol has an extensive administrative background and moved to Palmerston North in 2007 to take up a part time Building Manager role with Community Arts.
Carol grew up around various arts and crafts. Over the years she has dabbled with dance, music, singing, ceramic arts, knitting, macramé, string art and anything else that has looked vaguely interesting. Carol took over the management of Community Arts in early 2018.
Sue Owen, Administrator.
Another Palmyite but she prefers to be known as a Manawatu gal, having lived in Ashhurst and Feilding. Sue started at Square Edge Community Arts in June 2007 and had come from a nursing and corporate background. These past positions set her up well for what is essentially a customer service role, which she enjoys immensely as people are what Square Edge is all about. As Gallery & Office Administrator, Sue is usually the first point of contact for visitors/enquiries, etc.
Nathan Mudge, Community Engagement.
Nathan is Palmy born and bred. He trained as an actor with Wellington’s Long Cloud Youth Theatre then worked professionally throughout the country for several years. In 2015, Nathan returned to Manawatuu to manage The Dark Room as part of a year-long internship funded by Creative NZ. At its conclusion, he was promoted to Associate Director of Centrepoint Theatre, a position he held for two years. Nathan joined the team at Square Edge in March 2018 and contracts to various arts organisations throughout the region.
