Our Galleries
Square Edge Community Arts offers four gallery spaces, each with its own unique strengths, making them suitable for a variety of artworks and exhibition needs.
Main Gallery
The Main Gallery is our largest exhibition space, making it ideal for both solo and group exhibitions. Its also lends itself well to performances, artist talks, and special events.
This gallery is big enough to host collectives and community groups wishing to exhibit together. Plinths are available within the space to showcase sculptural and three-dimensional artworks.
Hire rate: $600
Entrance Gallery
The Entrance Gallery is the first and last space that most visitors experience, making it a highly visible exhibition area. It is ideally suited to wall-based artworks and pieces that require close inspection to detail.
The space can also be successfully shared between two artists, so if you would like to exhibit alongside someone else, we encourage you to consider a collaborative exhibition.
Hire rate: $540
Pop Up Gallery
The Pop Up Gallery is designed for emerging artists, first-time exhibitors, or those wishing to showcase a smaller body of work. Its intimate scale can feel less daunting than a larger exhibition space, making it an excellent introduction to exhibiting your work!
The gallery is behind glass so is great for pieces that are best viewed rather than handled, such as raranga, textiles, and other delicate works.
Hire rate: $260
Display Cases
The Display Cases are ideal for showcasing a small collection of object-based artworks. They work particularly well for small sculptures, ceramics, jewellery, and relief-based works.
These cases also provide an excellent opportunity for storytelling through objects and can be effectively used by community groups to share collective narratives, histories, or creative projects.
Hire rate: $120
TUITUI Gallery
The Tuitui Gallery is our newest gallery space and is dedicated to showcasing Toi Māori. It provides an opportunity for Māori artists, collectives, and communities to share their stories and creative practices.
This gallery is currently funded, so if you feel your work would be a good fit for the space, we encourage you to get in touch.
