I have always been interested in art and during my early years dabbled in art and craft of various medium. At Teachers College I majored in Art, however it wasn’t until my retirement that I took up oil painting. I spent approximately two years studying with Sister Adrienne Whitehead and since then have taken courses with other artists. My inspiration comes from the magnificent scenery of our country from which l create contemporary scenes in oil. Concentrating on shape and form I simplify the landscapes and use an emphasis on light and shade to give the strong lines that characterise my work.
