Inspired by Basquiat, Louise Bourgeois and David Lynch, my work uses many different mediums to express pent-up emotions and feelings onto canvas, focusing on the expression above execution creating an environment of emotion to live and experience through the canvas.

Waters of Enchantment
A watery medium. Gouache on paper. To paint is to weave a spell. A new spell. Enchantment is absorption, boundaries dissolve. I and the medium together, dancing, singing the unknown, the only now emerging. I see this, and it sees me. We go deeper. Infinite being in all directions. A vision forms. In the Otherworld, the Mythworld. Visions form, points on a mandala. At it’s center, the Golden Home of inmost self-nature….divine.

Paula Clare King grew up in the Manawatū. She has Master’s Degree in Education, an MA in Creative writing from the International Institute of Modern Letters and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Māori Visual Art.
